IMHO is a US based grassroots global health nonprofit organization to improve and develop health and health care infrastructure in under-served regions worldwide.
Currently, IMHO is primarily focused on impoverished and disadvantaged regions of Sri Lanka, where marginalized populations have endured conflict for over three decades, poverty, and other hardships.
Every year IMHO convenes its annual general meeting in a different US city to update our members the current activities and plans for the upcoming year.
This year our 7th Annual IMHO Convention will be held in Boston in conjunction with MA area
fundraiser on Friday, April 30th and Saturday, May 1st, 2010.
- This year we are expecting two visiting psychiatrists from Sri Lanka, Dr. M. Ganesan and Dr. S. Sivayokan, to present the incredible challenges faced with mental health issues and psychosocial rehabilitation.
- Dr. S. Sooriakumaran from the U.K., will provide the needs in rehabilitation medicine and present his work to help provide prostheses, therapy, and other support to the amputees in Mannar.

There is a huge need to resettle and to provide basic health care for more than 300,000 internally displaced people in Sri Lanka, after the long-standing civil conflict.
The event is open to all and much needed tax deductible contributions are always welcome even if you are unable to attend the convention.
